I Decided to Give Something Away Every Day in June

How Giving Has Changed My Mindset

I wouldn’t say that I am a selfish person. I donate all the time. At church, to the Salvation Army person with their red-kettle at Christmas, and even when I clean out my closet I make sure to donate the still wearable items.

I’ve been reading, for the 3rd time, “You Are a Badass,” by Jen Sincero, as well as listening to Christine Rizzo’s “Manifesting Formula” and my favorite, Earl Nightingale on YouTube. He’s an oldie but goodie.

I discovered something that I was missing. Gratitude.

Wait — how does GIVING give your Gratitude???

That’s a great question.

It’s the 23rd of June, and I have been true to my promise everyday this month, and the benefits have been unexpected.

⬆My gratitude has gone UP. 🦋I find it easier to give. 😁I am attracting positive people. 🔎I’m more focused (as a person with ADHD this is BIG)

These are just four of the many benefits of GIVING — without expectations.

Imagine if everyone did this 24/7 365 days.

What has been GIVEN to me during this time that I didn’t ask for?

🌟 A workshop run by a publisher where I get the opportunity to teach non-writers how to create their stories. I’m getting put in front of 100+ people (who I don’t know) from all over the globe to help them SHARE their stories they’ve been too afraid to write.

🌟 Guest on four podcasts. Yep! FOUR. The range from finding your voice, overcoming struggles to get to where you are today to my life growing up in a cult. I would never have imagined that so many people want to hear my story.

🌟My free virtual co-working space that started with one person showing up, is booked full! And I have special guests (that I met this month) who are industry experts who want to be part of my Q&A session.

🌟Random people who barely know me, are telling me that I have a spirt about me that’s kind, caring and approachable.

I’m not trying to make this all about me — but I’m giving some examples of how GIVING — without expectations, without regret or fear has made some big changes in my life. And, all for the good.

I’d love to know something you committed to do for 30 days and what the outcome was. Were their unexpected benefits?

The month isn’t over yet…

In the spirit of giving - July 10th is my next FREE PAPER-TRAIL - the virtual co-working space for writers of all levels and genres.

It's the place to ask questions, share your work, pitch idea, and get advice from the pros.

This month I have a special guest - author and editor Catherine Arguelles.

Catherine brings a wealth of knowledge! She'll debunk some of the biggest writing myths, plus share some of the mistakes ALL writers make.

Please join me - what do you have to lose?
